Let’s revisit history and discover how Knorr made it to the Filipino homes.
In 1972, Knorr introduced the Knorr Bouillon Cubes. Made with real chicken, these Knorr Cubes became one of the staples for stewed chicken recipes. And from 1973 to 1983, Knorr launched the entire Soups range. Remember the TV famous “Just add one egg” jingle?
Knorr began targeting Filipino recipes and using them as basis for their products. And, in 1976, they introduced Knorr Sinigang Broth to the market. From there until through the 80’s, more products made their way to the kitchen. One of them is Knorr Tamarind Soup Base, which proposed convenience and the right level of sourness. Perfect for Sinigang recipes.
At the turn of the century, 2001 specifically, Unilever Philippines acquired California Manufacturing Company, the local manufacturers of Knorr, Lady's Choice, and Best Foods.
In 2005, Knorr launched a powerful campaign led by Knorr Cubes, "A Woman's Secret Weapon". The campaign communicated the ability of every woman in the kitchen to turn an ordinary dish, using Knorr, into one worth coming home to on a Friday night.
Two years after, Knorr championed the advocacy of helping improve the country’s state of nutrition through promoting the habit of eating vegetables via the Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Gulay Campaign (Life is Colorful with Soupy Vegetables.)
In 2011, Knorr launched two powerful products in the market: the new Knorr All-in-One + Meaty Seasoning Granules that not only has the savoriness of an all-in-one seasoning but also the deliciousness of meat, and the new Knorr Complete Recipe Mix range which delivers a complete and consistent taste of your favorite dishes!
And in 2012, Knorr introduced a revolutionary innovation, Knorr Rice Mate, that aims to improve the quality of boiled rice by making it whiter, softer, and with the smell of freshly harvested rice. Plus, it is fortified with Vitamin A and Iodine.
